Please take
a few moments,
this might save
a few lives.

Content:

The possibility to save lives – or rather to preserve them – is right in front of our faces, literally, this peacekeeping activity is on our plates. By stopping to eat the bodies of other creatures we distance ourselves from those who create the demand of murder. Many people believe that this change is destructive but in fact the only destruction is the one of the dependance on products of violence. The consumer’s arguments are following; “it is delicious, it’s healthy and besides we are omnivores” – there are no counterarguments against taste but about the rest…First of all eating meat increases the probability of cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Secondly, comparative analysis of the external and internal construction of human and animal organisms demonstrate that natural food for humans are fruits, not flesh. In our age of richness of products nothing limits the aspiration not to create suffering or death. Find out more about the benefits of a plant based diet.

According to the words of Leo Tolstoy a peaceful coexistence of people is only possible when they do not eat animals. Tolstoy and many other well known personalities refused such food and they had a lot to say about this.

As long as there are slaughterhouses, there will be battlefields.
— Leo Tolstoy

Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet.
— Albert Einstein

As long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. Indeed, he who sows the seeds of murder and pain cannot reap the joy of love.
— Pythagoras

I have from an early age abjured the use of meat, and the time will come when men such as I look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men.
— Leonardo da Vinci

The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.
— Mohandas Gandhi

You have just dined, and however scrupulously the slaughterhouse is concealed in the graceful distance of miles, there is complicity.
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages.
— Thomas Edison

We manage to swallow flesh only because we do not think of the cruel and sinful thing that we do. Cruelty… is a fundamental sin, and admits of no arguments or nice distinctions. If only we do not allow our heart to grow callous, it protests against cruelty, is always clearly heard; and yet we go on perpetrating cruelties easily, merrily, all of us – in fact, anyone who does not join in is dubbed a crank.
— Rabindranath Tagore

I just could not stand the idea of eating meat – I really do think
that it has made me calmer…. People’s general awareness is getting much better, even down to buying a pint of milk: the fact that the calves are actually killed so that the milk doesn’t go to them but to us cannot really be right, and if you have seen a cow in a state of extreme distress because it cannot understand why its calf isn’t by, it can make you think a lot.
— Kate Bush
